Bellagio - Turntable

The Bellagio is Goldenote's Reference turntable, featuring a spring suspended chassis. It represents the utmost in sound reproduction. The sound of the Bellagio is the most dynamic, detailed, focused and open of all of Goldenote's turntables. Such great performance is achieved due to its high and perfectly balanced mass, its innovative decoupling systems & curved board shapes and the very fine quality of its bearing/spindle system. These features enable the turntable to dissipate and control vibrations and maintain rotation stability. The curved board upon which the arm and bearing/spindle are fixed is made of a double 20mm thick black acrylic, decoupled with brass heavy cylinders.
The springs used in the Bellagio turntable are the very best available, to avoid stretching and instability. They are custom shaped as a semi cone only for the Bellagio.
The main double plinth is made of two boards of 20mm thick black acrylic board. Its shape is reminiscent of the Ferrari Formula 1© steering wheel. Such a special shape is chosen not by chance, but specifically because it has no parallel edges! This drastically increases structural rigidity and virtually eliminates any vibrational feedback, allowing an outstanding record tracking.
The main double plinth is parallel to a transparent acrylic board 15mm thick, supported by three 8mm diameter TITANIUM Grade2 bars where three custom conical springs are fixed. While the transparent board keeps the main double plinth on a perfectly parallel position, the springs can be adjusted in height for easy turntable set up. (An optional extra 20mm thick Ferrari Formula 1© steering wheel plinth is available as bottom board instead).
The motor is inserted into a damped aluminium cylinder that is decoupled from the 15mm board to prevent vibrations from reaching the platter.
The turntable’s 45mm thick double platter is made of solid black Sustarin®, a polymeric material custom made in Germany by Bayern©. It absorbs and dissipates vibrations better than any other material Goldenote has ever tested. The two platters are coupled through five 1mm thick Teflon® custom washers. Underneath the bottom platter, 16 gold plated weights increase the peripheral mass of the platter optimising rotation stability.
The innovative platter bearing/spindle system, much larger and longer than traditional, is based on a bronze external threaded bearing that is perfectly centered on axis with the Goldenote Split-Spindle™. Both are electronically machined and polished to extremely strict tolerances, featuring excellent sound performance.
The two piece machined steel Split-Spindle™ clamps the platter eliminating all unwanted vibrations and oscillations.
